Interning in the Detroit mayor’s office was nothing short of amazing for State Representative Stephanie Gray Chang, MSW. Chang, 31, helped staff at the mayor’s office with the cost and spatial analysis for the city’s streetlight strategy in the midst of a budget crisis.
Chang is a Detroit resident who graduated from U-M in May 2014 with a dual master’s degrees in public policy and social work. She attributes her run for the State House representing District 6 in southwestern Detroit to her experience as a Bohnett Fellow in 2012.
