First Black Lesbian Delegate Goes to Boston for Prestigious Fellowship

Delegate Mary Washington (D-43) has had a busy summer. The first openly same gender loving Black delegate has been busy getting working teens bus passes to go to summer jobs. In addition to that, she has been feverishly working to raise awareness and funds for the marriage equality campaign. Even with all of this on her plate, she won the prestigious David Bohnett LGBT Leadership Fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School in Boston, Massachusetts.
