HASTINGS, Neb. (ABC 4 News) – Andrew Callahan is a member of the LDS Church but he thinks not for much longer. Callahan has been speaking out against a gay marriage ban on the California ballot and Callahan now faces excommunication.
6 weeks from Tuesday, California voters will decide the fate of Proposition 8.
Prop 8, if passed, would ban gay marriages in California, and because Andrew Callahan opposes Prop 8, he now faces mounting opposition from the LDS Church.
Andrew Callahan of Hastings, Nebraska says he got a letter from his church stake leaders Monday night.
