SAN DIEGO — The No on Proposition 8 campaign is going on the air with its first television ad. It will certainly not be the last.
Indeed, both sides in this struggle over the right of same-sex couples to marry, will be spending heavily between now and Election Day.
In a news conference in San Diego Monday morning, Prop. 8 opponents played a 30-second ad, which will begin airing statewide immediately. The ad centers on Samuel and Julia Thoron of San Francisco, who have been married for 46 years. Their youngest daughter lives with her partner in Oakland.
In the ad, Sam makes an
