Transportation

The development of mass transit and non-fossil fuel transportation.

Current weakening of environmental laws due to legislation by the current administration has made the David Bohnett Foundation's commitment to preserving the environment more important than ever. In today's corporate society, business concerns, rather than the public's interest, have tilted the balance against clean air and clean water. Further, increases in oil and coal exploration, along with cutbacks in protection for federal parklands, have weakened environmental protections. The Foundation has invested in organizations that are dedicated to the new development of non-fossil fuels and mass transportation initiatives. The Foundation seeks to fund projects with the potential for local, state or national impacts.
