Barbara Kiviat graduated from NYU Wagner with an MPA focusing on public policy analysis. She is now pursuing a PhD in Sociology and Social Policy at Harvard University.
Her research focuses on consumer credit and rental housing in urban areas. While at NYU Wagner, Barbara worked as a research associate at the Financial Access Initiative, where she helped launch the U.S. Financial Diaries, a longitudinal study of the economic lives of 300 American families.
As a Bohnett Fellow, Barbara learned about the most pressing issues facing cities – issues she hopes to help sort through as a researcher.
