Sharon Carney

Sharon Carney completed her MPA specializing in public policy analysis in 2012. As a Bohnett Fellow, she served in the Office of Economic and Business Policy in Los Angeles under Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

During her time there, she helped coordinate the Los Angeles Regional Export Council and the city’s development reform plan. Sharon is currently chief of staff to the president and assistant corporate secretary to the Board of Trustees at the Urban Institute, a Washington, DC based research institution that provides independent facts, rigorous analysis, and evidence-based solutions to inform public policy decisions and debates at the local, state and federal levels.

She is responsible for supporting and advising the President on strategic matters, coordinating Executive Office initiatives, and managing special projects.
