Liz Atherton
Liz Atherton has managed the finances of the David Bohnett Foundation as its Controller since 2000. She supervises the financial and accounting systems, insurance and risk, cash and asset management, budgets and financial reporting for board meetings, audit, and tax. In addition, Liz also heads the accounting for Baroda Ventures and Mr. Bohnett’s family office.
Liz earned her BA in Financial Services magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge and is a CFP™ Certified Financial Planner. She serves on the boards of Theatre Americana and Save Stengel Foundation. Liz was previously employed for 11 years at Steinberg, a music software distributor.
Liz enjoyed a first career in ballet dancing professionally for Ballet Met of Columbus, Ohio and Nevada Ballet Theater in Las Vegas, as well as touring Europe dancing with LA Opera in John Adams’, “Nixon in China”. Most recently she has performed in charity benefits with the Shakespeare Club of Pasadena and Theatre Americana of Alta Dena. Besides dancing, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband, J. David Atherton and watching their teenage son play baseball.
