CHARLOTTE, N.C. — City Councilmember LaWana Mayfield has completed her three-week stint at the Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government, joining a long list of government leaders who have participated in the intense state and local government program.
In late May, Mayfield had turned to her constituents and community for support attending the program. Part of her costs were paid for by a grant through the David Bohnett Foundation’s LGBT Leadership Fellowship.
