Christian Laurence

Christian Laurence is completing his MPA in Health Policy and Management (Concentration: Health Policy Analysis). As a David Bohnett Public Service Fellow, Chris interned at the Mayor’s Office for the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, in which he facilitated the Special Medical Needs Shelter (SMNS) workgroup, drafted the SMNS Playbook, and coordinated Mayor’s Office staff Coastal Storm Plan training. His Bohnett Fellow internship resulted in a full-time job with the New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) as a Health and Medical Specialist. Chris is also an Executive Board Member of the Wagner Health Network (WHN) and a Board Member of Gray Panthers, New York City.

Previously, Chris worked as a Marketing Outreach Coordinator at Selfhelp Community Services and a Consultant for NYC Department of Parks and Recreation after participating in the New York Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. Before Coro, he served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Miami Coalition for the Homeless and worked with several policy organizations in Washington, DC, including: Medicare Rights Center, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and the Congressional Budget Office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Aging Studies from Ithaca College.
