Elizabeth Guernsey received her MUP with a specialization in public policy analysis in 2011. Before coming to Wagner, Elizabeth worked at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. as a research associate, where her work focused on public housing and the intersection of education and affordable housing policy.
As a David Bohnett Fellow, Elizabeth served as a key member for Mayor Bloomberg’s Young Men’s Initiative. It was the first comprehensive municipal initiative focused on improving the lives of young men through a coordinated process with city agencies and a comprehensive package of policy reform and programmatic actions.
She is now a director of policy and operations and deputy chief of staff for the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the largest municipal developer of affordable housing in the nation.
