Jamillah Jordan received a Master of Arts Degree in Urban Planning with an emphasis on community economic development. During the Bohnett Fellowship, she worked with Deputy Mayor Helmi Hisserich in the Department of Housing and Economic Development. While at the Mayor’s Office, Jamillah served as the coordinator of South Los Angeles initiatives, working on issues such as financial empowerment, school reform and transit-oriented development.
After travelling Jamillah around Asia, visiting countries such as Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia Jamillah moved to northern California where she works for a planning and development firm.
