Karissa Yee, completed her Master of Public Policy at UCLA Luskin with a focus on education and urban policy. As a Bohnett Fellow, she worked for Deputy Mayor of Education Joan Sullivan advancing the Mayor’s education agenda through policy analysis and advocacy, as well as convening local leaders to build a broad movement for education reform. Karissa served as the lead analyst on teacher effectiveness issues and LAUSD's Public School Choice initiative for the Mayor's Office of Education.
Karissa uses informed research to improve equality of opportunity in urban systems and school districts through the legislative process. As a project manager for the Los Angeles Unified School District, she leads cross-sector initiatives that facilitate collaboration between the public, private, and philanthropic sectors.
