Kelsey Jessup is currently studying public policy at UCLA in the Luskin School of Public Affairs. She is interested in environmental policy, as well as health and education policy.
Kelsey received her BA in theater from UCLA where she minored in anthropology, sang in the a cappella group Awaken, co-founded a theater company and studied abroad for a semester in Chile. After graduating, Kelsey managed a high-end women’s fashion boutique for three years. She then left retail to write, produce and perform her own music. She has played at a variety of music venues all over Los Angeles. She released a CD of original music that can be found on iTunes.
Last year, Kelsey held an internship with the California Coastal Conservancy where she learned more about project management and budgeting within the environmental sector.
What has remained constant throughout Kelsey’s education and eclectic career is her desire to make a positive difference in the world. She is thrilled to have been selected as a Bohnett Fellow and is incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Kelsey has been interning in the Mayor’s Office of Budget and Innovation part-time since February. She looks forward to deepening her knowledge and broadening her skill set during the coming year.
