USC Price School of Public Policy: Rob Moreau – LA River Bohnett Fellow

Rob Moreau – LA River Bohnett Fellow

Prior to applying to the University of Southern California, Rob Moreau served a term as a Peace Corps Volunteer gathering data from community members to learn and discuss local issues. Rob’s term as a Peace Corps Volunteer led him to apply to the Sol Price School of Public Policy at USC. USC Price has taught Rob to think carefully about project metrics and to have insightful conversations about issues affecting local communities. As a Bohnett Fellow with River LA, Rob finds himself further engaging communities by using technology to inform the traditional public engagement approaches. River LA is targeting hard to reach communities to more thoroughly understand current public sentiment on a variety of issues, learn best practices for educating residents, and test strategies to move residents into action. His work has the capacity to change how public engagement is implemented for public projects.

As Rob dives deeper into nontraditional community engagement projects, he wants to learn how River LA’s approach can inform how the private and public sectors interact with marginalized communities.
